INTERVIEW: HOTCALLER
Our latest interview is with Hotcaller. The Sydney-based producer first caught our attention with his flip of ‘Slayer - Raining Blood’ - remixing Slayer takes some SERIOUS balls, and if done wrong, could piss off their very loyal and very, very large fanbase. Lucky for Hotcaller, he NAILED it.
He has also flipped Kavinsky and Gesaffelstein, as well as released a few killer singles. Most recently is his heavy flip with Lucille Croft (hello, that’s me) of Nine Inch Nails - Closer.
All-round great guy, great producer, great taste in music. Why the hell wouldn’t we interview him?

"Haha fu k yeh shit i didn't see"
Dream collab?
I recently got asked this on a live interview - first name that came to my head was Lil Texas so I'm sticking with that. Anyone who wants to find out what midtempo speedcore would sound like, get at @liltexas
Would you rather be eaten by a lion or a crocodile and why?
Crocodile. Cats are shit.
1 production tip / piece of advice?
Don't separate creativity from technicality - you're both a musician and an audio engineer. Also, bonus advice: ultimately nothing really matters so chill out and never rush anything.
3 things that un-inspire you?
People that don't like FL studio. The slow yet inevitable heat death of the universe. Happiness.
What can we expect from Hotcaller coming up in the next 12 months?
Lots original releases, a bunch of collabs with some absolute legends plus there'll be some more fukt metal remixes for everyone to mosh out to. Got a few sick shows coming up in the next couple of months as well. Also, did a big merch collab with Ratlife this year but the caps sold out hell quick so pretty sure there's a summer restock in the works.
What makes you unique?
I'm pretty sure I invented the VBG (VB + gin mixed to a 1:1 ratio).
3 biggest music influences
Nu-metal, my old Limewire folder and raves.
One word to sum up HOTCALLER:
YIKES
If you could be any Marvel superhero, who would you be?
Antman.
