PREMIERE: WILL K DROPS NEW MUSIC WITH MAKJ ‘BOUNCE 2 THIS’ ON HYSTERIA RECORDS

PREMIERE: WILL K DROPS NEW MUSIC WITH MAKJ ‘BOUNCE 2 THIS’ ON HYSTERIA RECORDS

After a few months of teasing this in his sets - including his recent Tomorrowland set on the Axtone stage, Will K’s collab with MAKJ ‘Bounce 2 This’ is FINALLY out via Hysteria Records. Already having received support from Dannic, Sander Van Doorn, Oliver Heldens, Nicky Romero + more, you’ll likely be hearing this in everywhere over the next few months.

At only 21 years old, Will has had a pretty fucking crazy career so far. This guy started DJ’ing and building a reputation at just 14 years old, and started doing headline shows around Australia shortly after. Since then, Will has based himself between Australia and the UK, and, has been playing shows all over the world, as well as receiving support from the likes of Axtone, Oliver Heldens, Hardwell, Ingrosso, Tiesto etc.

As for MAKJ, one of the biggest names in dance music right now - and having recently released music with Deorro and Quintino, this will be this third release on Hysteria Records.

We had a quick chat to Will after he finished a show in Sweden on his way to the airport:

How did this collab come about?

I was listening to an Oliver Heldens set - I think from Tomorrowland? I’m a big fan of that Heldeep sound and something in the set inspired me to start something a bit underground and bassy, but would be friendly for my club sets. I threw something together and sent it to MAK on Facebook, and he loved it! It didn’t take long to finish from there, and his touch really turned the original idea into something powerful and fat.

What’s your creative process behind starting a new project?

I like to start with drums and a groove, then start throwing samples and loops around. Once i have the idea for something fat, I try to find the weirdest sounds and a lead to throw over it, and it all just comes together from there.

What inspired your more recent change in music direction?

Honestly, I’d was a lot of it had to do with when I went to the Joyryde show in Melbourne at the beginning of the year! Also with the artists I’ve been collaborating with over the last year - sitting in the studio with other producers and seeing their workflow kind of inspires me and makes me realise how much crazier you can get in with music, instead of just being stuck in the same loop all the time.

You recently played at Tomorrowland, AND on the Axtone Stage! How was that?

Oh man, Tomorrowland was fucking incredible! That, and just all of the shows around it in Europe. I played a show in Slovakia that legitimately changed my life. The Axtone stage was insane, the show was insane, and it was really cool not only to play, but also to meet so many new people and network!
