INTERVIEW: EDDIE — For The Wolves HQ

Introducing: EDDIE. Eddie is the hero the dance community has been patiently waiting for - he’s the guy thats’s gonna bring back electro in 2020.

We should really also introduce Lawton too, Eddie’s avatar (who is equally as important). You’ve probably heard his collab with Rezz, his remix for Zeds Dead, his countless releases on Mau5trap, or seen him arguing on twitter with No Mana about Flamin Hot Cheetos.

Worst habit you’ve developed as a music producer?

Probably developing an even worse diet than before.

I’d find myself not eating proper meals and then have sudden cravings for snacks and energy drinks (another bad habit because LACK of sleep)

But I’ve been doing much better, eating healthier etc.

One piece of advice to other producers:

Stay off the red bulls!!...

But on a serious note, something I heard a while ago that stuck with me was

“Create your own luck” ... that can be taken in many ways but for me it was just making sure I was patient with my brand & sound etc. before launching it and just researching labels, artists making sure I’m putting myself in the best possible position to reach the goals I had.. and I did end up reaching the ones I had set back then!

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Ok, so here’s the list

1. Comfortably living off music

2. Building my dream studio (so much Harry Potter interior involved u have NO IDEA)

3. EDDIE headline tours (with Lawton stage set up)

4. My EDDIE/Lawton clothing/merch label well and truly thriving by then (hasn’t even launched yet but 10 years is a while )

5. Making sure Electro is BACK still

6. Stealing NoMana’s cheetos

Gryffindor - because that’s where JK & the sorting hat put me in ... and who doesn’t wanna be in Gryffindor like cmon.

What you listen to when you’re sad? What do you listen to when you’re happy?

Nothing in specific, I’ve never had certain songs or genres that I listen to for sad or happy BUT I listen to Dirk Maassen when I’m doing some serious stuff and need to focus.

You’ve started putting out some tour dates (FINALLY, fuck), what’s next?

Yessss SO happy to finally be playing shows in my beautiful home country!
